AI voice
An AI voice is a synthetically produced voice-over. It is available immediately, exists in many languages and can be changed without a studio booking. On short, factual texts the difference to a real recording is barely audible; on long or emotional ones it is.
Where it works well
- Factual explanation in training and explainer videos.
- Many language versions of the same text, without a single new booking.
- Texts that may still change: correcting a figure in the script takes minutes instead of a studio day.
- Short ads where pace and clarity matter.
Where you hear it
On emotion, irony and emphasis across longer stretches. Synthetic voices place stress mechanically evenly, and that is exactly what shows on a brand film meant to create closeness. Proper names, technical terms and strings of numbers also go wrong regularly and have to be fixed one at a time.
Our rule: where the voice is part of the brand, we recommend a real recording and charge it by effort. Where it carries information, an AI voice is enough and saves money that does more elsewhere.
Voice cloning and rights
A voice can be modelled from a few minutes of material. That is technically easy and legally delicate: a real person's voice is part of their personality, and reproducing it without consent is not permitted. With explicit consent it is a useful tool, for instance to have a text in a second language in the same voice.
Frequently asked questions
What does an AI voice cost?
With us it is part of the production and does not trigger a separate item. A professional voice artist comes on top by effort, including the usage rights for the agreed channels. See pricing.
Can you tell it is not a real voice?
On short, factual texts usually not. The longer the text and the more emotion required, the more likely it shows. We present both versions when the decision is close.
Does an AI voice have to be labelled?
A neutral synthetic voice resembling nobody triggers no disclosure duty. Reproducing the voice of a real person falls under the rules for convincing content and requires consent and a notice.
