AI training video
A training video explains properly once what every new person is otherwise shown individually. We produce training videos and training films with generative AI: no shoot day, no studio and, on request, several languages over the same images.
What a training video is
A training video points inwards. It does not advertise; it replaces an explanation somebody otherwise gives by hand every time. Everything else follows from that: it is short, it covers exactly one task, it carries a title you can find it under, and it is available in the moment someone is sitting in front of the job. A series of ten short videos is worth more than one twenty-minute film nobody watches to the end.
Training video, explainer video or tutorial?
The three words describe similar films for different audiences. Confuse them and you produce past the target.
| Term | For whom | What it has to achieve |
|---|---|---|
| Training video | your own staff, retail, partners | explain a task so it is then done without further questions |
| Explainer video | customers before the purchase | remove a doubt that stands in the way of buying |
| Tutorial | people who already have the product | walk step by step through one concrete procedure |
| Mandatory instruction | staff, required by law | convey what is prescribed, in a provable way |
Training video with AI, a shoot and an animation studio compared
With training films the price of the first video is rarely what decides it. What decides it is the cost of upkeep. Content goes out of date, and then it matters how expensive a change is.
| Route | Typical cost | What a change costs |
|---|---|---|
| Shoot it yourself | a shoot day with a small camera team usually 950 to 1,500 € net, plus edit and a room | a new date with the same people, otherwise the scene no longer matches |
| Animation studio | for animated films, entry packages in the German-speaking market sit at a median of 2,313 € net per 60 seconds | every changed scene is animated again |
| AI production with us | from 1,000 € net, a series of short videos cheaper than the sum of single projects | the affected scene is regenerated, the rest stays |
The shoot-day range comes from publicly listed prices of production companies in Austria and Germany, sources under Brand film cost. The median for animated films comes from the Explainer Video Price Index 2026 by Explikate, ten providers in Germany and Austria, as of 29.09.2026, retrieved 24.10.2026. It covers explainer videos and is only an indication for training films, because no comparable index exists for them.
Formats and lengths
Training videos are almost always made as a series. So we fix length and scope per topic before the first module is produced.
| Where it runs | Format | Usual length |
|---|---|---|
| Onboarding, one topic per video | 16:9 | 2 to 4 minutes |
| Software step by step | 16:9, screen recording | 1 to 3 minutes per task |
| Safety instruction | 16:9 | 4 to 8 minutes |
| Short note at the workplace or on a phone | 9:16 | 30 to 60 seconds |
Where a training video pays off
Onboarding
The same first days every time: who does what, how time tracking works, where the documents are. Explained properly once instead of fifteen times in passing.
Software and processes
A new tool in the company. One video per task, two to four minutes, available exactly when someone is sitting in front of it.
Safety and instruction
Recurring mandatory topics that are the same every year and still cost time every year.
Product and service
Training for retail, field sales or partners, so everyone tells the same story.
Why AI suits this particularly well
Training content goes out of date. A filmed video in which a particular person shows a particular interface is unusable after the next update, and correcting it needs a team, a date and a room again. Generated scenes can be swapped at the affected point; the rest stays.
Then there is language. The same training in German, English and Turkish means three recordings or a dub when filmed. With an AI voice it is one audio track per language over the same images, and with a speaking avatar even the mouth movements match.
Three routes to a training video
| Form | Suits | What you supply |
|---|---|---|
| Explainer film with graphics | processes, rules, connections | bullet points or existing documents |
| An avatar speaking | addresses, welcomes, mandatory topics | text or a rough script |
| Screen recording plus AI | software step by step | access or a recording of your interface |
Screen recordings of your real software are either made by us or supplied by you. An invented interface would be worthless for training, because nobody would find again what they saw.
Where AI reaches its limits
If your own people, your machines or your rooms have to be on screen, there is no way around a recording. Instruction at a machine that exists only at your site cannot be invented, and it must not look invented either. In those cases we film the affected passages and build the rest generatively around them. What applies is set out under AI video or a shoot.
How a project runs
- First call: 30 minutes, which explanation you have to give most often.
- Topic list: we cut the material into modules, you approve the order.
- Script and styleframes: text and image language are settled before production.
- Production: module by module, with voice, subtitles and screen recordings.
- Delivery: all modules and language versions, ready for your learning platform.
That is the short version. All nine steps with the approvals are on Process.
Common questions
What does a training video cost?
As with all our projects, from 1,000 € net, with a fixed price in the offer. The price depends on the number of shots, the demand for realism and the language versions. A series of several short videos costs less than the sum of single projects, because image language, titles and voice are made only once. The items in detail are under Pricing.
How long should a training video be?
As long as the one task it explains, usually two to four minutes. A twenty-minute video does not get watched to the end and does not get reopened at the next question. Several short parts with clear titles work better, because you can jump straight to where it is stuck.
Can we change the video ourselves later?
Changes to the picture are made by us, because they need the project files and the models. You receive the video in all agreed versions and can use it internally without limit. What you may do with the material is set out in the terms, point 5.
Does a training video made with AI have to be labelled?
For internal training the disclosure duty in Article 50 of the AI Act applies when convincing likenesses of real people appear. A recognisably artificial avatar that imitates nobody does not fall under it. We record per project what was used and recommend the note even where it is not required. Details in the guide to AI labelling.
Do you deliver subtitles?
Yes, burned in or switchable. Switchable subtitles can be searched and translated, burned-in ones look the same everywhere. For training we recommend switchable ones, because they stay searchable in learning platforms.
