AI recruiting video
We make recruiting videos in which your real staff and real workplaces are on screen and AI takes care of the rest: the opening, the vision, the values and the worlds. People who apply want to know who they will work with and where. That is why we do not show invented AI colleagues.
What a recruiting video is
A recruiting video answers one single question: do I want to work here? That makes it not a brand film for customers but a film for people considering spending part of their life with you. The mixture we work with follows from that: whatever shows your company concretely gets filmed, that is the team, the workplace and what people say. Everything that carries attitude and future comes out of AI.
Recruiting video, employer branding video or job video?
Three words often used as if they were the same. They differ in how many people they are meant to address.
| Term | What it advertises | Where it runs |
|---|---|---|
| Employer branding video | you as an employer overall | careers page, trade fair, LinkedIn |
| Recruiting video | a group of roles, engineering or care for instance | careers page, ads, social networks |
| Job video | exactly one open position | inside the job ad itself |
| Brand film | the company towards customers | website, sales, presentation |
All three can be cut from the same shoot and the same AI scenes. That brings the cost down considerably when you are filling several roles.
Recruiting video with AI and a conventional shoot compared
The difference is not the shoot day, because that stays. It is everything told around the real footage.
| Conventional production | Hybrid with AI | |
|---|---|---|
| Shooting effort | several days, several locations | usually one short day for team and workplace |
| Vision and values | text cards or expensive staging | visual metaphors, generated rather than built |
| New role, new version | another shoot, or leftover footage | swap the closing part, the rest stays |
| Cost | a brand film conventionally runs 5,000 to 20,000 € net, entry packages with one shoot day from around 2,000 € | from 3,500 € net for the base film, see Pricing |
The ranges come from publicly listed prices of production companies in Austria and Germany, retrieved 19.09.2026. Sources and the full calculation are on Brand film cost.
Formats and lengths
| Where it runs | Format | Usual length |
|---|---|---|
| Careers page | 16:9 | 45 to 90 seconds |
| Job ad for one position | 16:9 or 1:1 | 30 to 60 seconds |
| LinkedIn and Instagram | 1:1 or 9:16 | 20 to 45 seconds |
| TikTok and Reels | 9:16 | 10 to 30 seconds |
Why a recruiting video needs real people
A recruiting video answers a single question: do I want to work here? To answer it, candidates look at the team, the tone and the workplace. A film with invented people raises expectations that are disappointed on the first day at the latest, and the gap between film and reality is remembered longer than the film.
Convincing AI people presented as your staff can also fall under the disclosure duty of the EU AI Act. More in the guide on AI labelling in advertising. We avoid it because it works against the purpose of the film.
What AI is good for in a recruiting video
AI takes over everything that is told through images rather than through people. Those are often exactly the scenes that would be too expensive or impossible on a conventional shoot. That gives a recruiting video the effect of a brand film without costing it any credibility.
- Opening: a strong first image that earns attention before anyone scrolls on.
- Vision: where the company is heading, a building, a product or a project that does not exist yet.
- Values: cohesion, precision or responsibility as visual metaphors instead of a text slide.
- Worlds: your product in use, in macro, in time lapse or in places no crew can reach.
- Animation: career paths, locations or entry routes as moving graphics.
- Versions: cuts for the careers page, LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok from the same material.
What has to be filmed
Everything that shows your company concretely is filmed for real. That means your staff, what they say, the workplace and scenes from the working day. A short shoot day is often enough, because the demanding images come from AI. Two or three people are plenty, and a sentence that sounds unpolished beats a perfect one that sounds written.
- Statements from staff, ideally in their own words rather than read out.
- Workplaces, workshop, office, site or vehicles, the way they really look.
- Team scenes: a meeting, a break, a handover, onboarding.
Filming is done by Dean Rocinante and partners from our network, or we use material you already have. We discuss both beforehand so that effort and dates are in the offer.
The structure of a hybrid recruiting video
A structure that works alternates between generated images for attitude and filmed scenes for reality. The table shows an example for a film of 45 to 90 seconds. We adapt the order to your audience. How shoot and AI are split in general is under hybrid video production.
| Part | Content | How |
|---|---|---|
| Opening | an image that makes people curious | AI |
| Who we are | team and workplace | filmed |
| What we stand for | values as visual metaphors | AI |
| What it feels like | statements from the team | filmed |
| Where we are going | vision, projects, products | AI or animation |
| Ending | an invitation to apply, link to the careers page | graphics |
Where AI reaches its limits
If no filming at all is possible, we advise against a recruiting video that pretends to show real staff. We do not generate employees who do not exist, we do not reproduce real staff without their written consent, and we do not produce testimonials from invented colleagues. A pure AI film without people can work as an opener on the careers page. It does not replace a look at the team, and we say that openly in the first call.
How a project runs
- First call: 30 minutes on Google Meet, audience and feasibility.
- Concept and styleframes: you approve structure, look and the generated scenes.
- Shoot: staff and workplaces, well prepared and short.
- Production: generated scenes, motion tests, finishing.
- Rough cut and finishing: the first version for approval, then colour, sound and every format.

Cost and duration
A hybrid recruiting video at Syntax Motion starts at 3,500 € net for the base film. The date from briefing to delivery is fixed in the offer. The biggest differences come from the number of locations and the number of cuts. A shoot day with a small camera team costs 950 to 1,500 € net at market rates, and for a recruiting film that is usually the best spent money in the project. An overview is on pricing and brand film cost. How we build generated scenes is shown in the brand film examples, all of them spec work made without a brief.
Frequently asked questions
What does a recruiting video agency do differently from an advertising agency?
A recruiting video agency thinks from the candidate inwards, not from the product. The question is not what your company sells but why someone would want to work there: tasks, team, workplace, development. We build a short film from that which fits the job ad and runs on the channels your candidates use.
Can a recruiting video be made entirely with AI?
Technically yes, sensibly rarely. Candidates want to see real people and real workplaces. That is why we film the team and use AI for opening, vision, values and worlds. A purely generated film works at best as a short opener on the careers page.
What does a recruiting video cost?
At Syntax Motion a hybrid recruiting video starts at 3,500 € net. Short cutdowns for the feed, made from that film, start at 1,000 € net. The price depends on shoot days, the number of generated scenes and the number of cuts. A binding offer follows a 30 minute first call.
How long should a recruiting video be?
45 to 90 seconds suits the careers page and the job ad. For social networks we cut shorter vertical versions on top. Job videos for a single position can be shorter, because they answer one question only.
Does a recruiting video with AI scenes have to be labelled?
Not every AI video has to be labelled. Since 2 August 2026, Article 50 of the AI Act requires disclosure for deepfakes, meaning convincing content showing real or plausibly real people, places or events. YouTube, Meta and TikTok have their own rules on top. Obviously designed worlds and metaphors are judged differently from realistic people. Details in the guide on AI labelling in advertising.
