What does a brand film cost?
By Syntax Motion, Vienna. Updated: 16 October 2026
A brand film of 60 to 120 seconds costs 5,000 to 20,000 € net when conventionally produced. With generative AI the same film starts at 3,500 € with us, because shoot days, crew and locations fall away. Which route fits depends on whether real people, rooms or products have to be on screen.
Price ranges at a glance
| Route | Typical cost | Time to the finished film | Fits when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conventionally shot | mostly 5,000 to 20,000 € net; entry packages with one shoot day from around 2,000 €, elaborate films with cast 25,000 to 50,000 € | about 2 to 6 weeks | real staff, rooms or customers have to be shown |
| Hybrid shoot plus AI scenes | depends on the shoot share | depends on the shoot share | people have to be real, worlds and effects cannot be filmed |
| With AI | from 3,500 € for the base film, short cutdowns from 1,000 € | by arrangement | the story works through images, products and mood |
The ranges for conventional production come from publicly listed prices of production companies in Austria and Germany. A shoot day with a small camera team costs 950 to 1,500 € net there. What your film costs, we say in the call
The ranges above are the market, not your offer. What your film costs depends on length, the number of shots, language versions and revision rounds. In 30 minutes we look at what you have in mind and you get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Book demoWhat drives the price
In conventional production
- Shoot days: each one brings crew, equipment and travel.
- Locations and permits: rent, closures, fallback dates for weather.
- Cast: fees and usage rights, often limited in time and territory.
- Post: edit, colour, sound, music licences.
In AI production
- Length and number of shots: each one is developed and approved individually.
- Demand for realism: people in close-up and exact product detail need more finishing than landscapes or abstract worlds.
- Product accuracy: labels, logos and packaging often have to be corrected by hand.
- Versions: social formats, languages and cut-downs cost by effort.
- Sound: music, voice and sound design, licensed or AI-assisted.
An example calculation for a 60 second brand film
In the offer we list the items separately: concept and script, styleframes, image generation and finishing, edit, colour and sound, and the formats. A conventional shoot adds crew, equipment, location and cast; with us those fall away. The base film starts at 3,500 € net, short cutdowns from it at 1,000 € net.
Recruiting films follow their own rules, because candidates want to see real people. More on making a recruiting video.
Where AI still has limits
AI does not replace a shoot when specific real people must appear, such as your team, your management or customers describing their experience. Long dialogue with exact lipsync is demanding too. In those cases we recommend a hybrid production: the people are filmed, worlds and effects come from AI. The filming is done by Dean Rocinante, who brings both parts together in the frame.
Frequently asked questions
What does a brand film with AI cost?
At Syntax Motion a brand film with AI starts at 3,500 € net. The price rises with the number of shots, the demand for realism and the versions you need. A binding offer follows a 30-minute first call.
How long does production take?
From briefing to finished film the time depends on length and number of shots. We fix the schedule in the offer. You approve at four points: concept, styleframes, motion tests and rough cut.
Who owns the rights to the finished film?
On payment in full you receive a simple, worldwide and time-unlimited right of use for the purpose stated in the offer, which without a differing agreement means your own digital channels including paid advertising. Television, cinema and out-of-home are agreed separately. See usage rights.
Does an AI brand film have to be labelled?
Not every AI video has to be labelled. Since 2 August 2026, Article 50 of the AI Act requires disclosure for deepfakes, meaning convincing content showing real or plausibly real people, places or events. YouTube, Meta and TikTok have their own rules on top. Details in the guide on AI labelling in advertising.
